An oil tank truck collided with a trailer on Zhayin Road near Shijie Road at about 9:30pm last night, Yangpu District's fire department said today. The truck driver was stuck in the cabin and feeling foggy after the front of his truck was badly twisted in the accident. He was removed about 20 minutes later and sent to hospital immediately.
The truck was loaded with two tons of petrol at the time of the accident, the authority said. The city issued a yellow weather alert due to rainstorms, wind and lightening at about 9pm yesterday. The authority said the truck driver failed to brake in time due to a slippery road, hitting the trailer which was backing up.
